Echoing the aesthetics of activist pasts and collaborative histories in creative practice, Kelly Doley’s Things Learnt About Feminism series exists originally as a selection of 96 posters created in 2012, and exhibited again in Unfinished Business. Doley’s work looks to the strength of conversation and intersectional perspectives as a powerful and informative educational resource.
The design ‘Feminism: 500 Years and Going Strong’, refers to Book of the City of Ladies, the first decisively feminist text, written by Christine de Pizan approximately 500 years ago, and celebrates the tenacity and strength of feminist movements fighting through adversity over all these years.
